Head to Head with World Powerlifting Champion

On Wednesday I had an appointment at English Institute of Sport, Birmingham to take part in a contest against IPF World Powerlifting Champion, Dean Bowring. It was a feature dreamed up for the Channel 4 programme 'That Paralympic Show' which is broadcast every Saturday afternoon on Channel 4 at 1.25pm or Channel 4+1 at 2.25pm.
The intention is to find out how an able-bodied athlete's performance compares to a disabled athlete's performance in the same discipline.
We had a great time filming the programme although I must say they really did bring out the heavy guns when they chose to put Dean up against me. He is a man mountain!
The whole thing was done with good humour, though. I'll not disclose what the outcome was - just take a look on Saturday 23rd October.
Oh, and by the way, I'm also on TV this coming Saturday, 16th October. It is just a little snippet of me taking an ice bath with Iwan Thomas!
